After 16 years, we updated Wegaspace to a new web based version. By the time we update this we had 12,000 user accounts, 75,000 forum topics and posts, and 500,000 private messages. Everything persists safely today.
We started Cyberchatz in 2007, rebranded as mayawap in 2008 and later on the same year we became Wegaspace. Technically Wegaspace contain user activities since February 2008.
Site was originally built based on open source PHP WAP chat forum scripts. We gradually enhanced site as a focused, clutter free and better user experience site. The numbers substantiate results of our effort.
2010 is the year we made last change on Wegaspace. Social media and smart phones already started to change the traditional ways we connected each other on the internet. Wegaspace slowly became an inactive site, but we never did shut down it.
Right after 16 years I thought to give a new life to Wegaspace again. This web based version of Wegaspace is primarily a discussion forum. We have the profiles and private messaging system too. The main difference is forums came to the public surface of the internet. In old version you always needed a user account to read them.
We haven't launched the chatrooms and shoutbox yet. We are connected with each other in better ways today. I think the primary utility and also the strength of Wegaspace in the social media era is in its forums.
Just let me know your thoughts, ideas and suggestions about this new version of the Wegaspace.
